Covid-19 Response

INTRODUCTION
Education providers face the double challenge of needing to respond quickly to minimise learning loss, and also build back better systems for the long-term.
The pandemic could fast-track the use of technology to support learning in creative and effective ways. It could also increase inequality and reverse decades of progress for the most marginalised.

Why It Matters

School closures have affected over 1 billion learners worldwide
Based on data from 157 countries, the World Bank estimates that Covid-19 could lead to 7 million children dropping out of school in 2020
Many months after initial school closures, children from poor and remote areas still have very limited access to learning
