Brief info

Role: I am a Senior Lecturer in Digital Education at the University of Manchester (Manchester Institute of Education). My research focuses on digital technology’s role in the future of education, in particular, how this can enable new models of education, address educational disadvantage, and support dialogue and communication. I have particular experience applying methods for research synthesis and undertaking design-based research.

Background: I completed my PhD in Computer Science in 2013. Between 2013 and 2021, I worked as a Senior Research Associate at the University of Cambridge Faculty of Education. I was also Principal Researcher for the Cambridge Digital Education Futures Initiative (DEFI). I am currently an Editor of the British Journal of Educational Technology.

Fun Fact: Despite my Northern (England) sounding accent I have strong Italian roots.
