Brief info
Role: I am an expert in decolonial studies and work as a researcher at EdTech Hub. Currently, I am involved in a significant research project in Kenya, which spans several years. The focus of this study is to explore the impact and potential of digital personalised learning technologies in Kenyan classrooms. Learn about the study here. Additionally, I am an active member of a hub stream called GARDED (Gender, Anti-Racism, Decolonising, Embracing Diversity) in EdTech Advocates. Through this platform, I am dedicated to fostering a community of EdTech stakeholders who share the same values.
This includes writing blog pieces, organising emerging researcher workshops to open up pathways for more silenced voices in the field, conducting and disseminating research and more.
Background: I come from Cairo, Egypt and I have 11+ years of experience in the fields of international (basic and tertiary) education, social innovation, higher education teaching, as well as agile and adaptive management/leadership. I am skilled at facilitating social transformation and participatory processes, designing education programmes and learning experiences, catalyzing innovations, policy analysis and research.
Fun Fact: I love everything theater from being a performer to a spectator. I once got a free ticket to Hamilton on Broadway (VIP category) because, as I was queuing up outside the theater waiting for free standing tickets, I had a chat around Education with a woman queuing up for entry and she liked my views on decoloniality and creativity in Education!
