I am a development professional with over 16 years’ experience, including the past nine years focused on generating evidence and evaluating the impact of girls’ education programmes and EdTech research in marginalised communities.
Key milestones in my career include establishing the Environment and Livelihoods Department at Youth Alive! Kenya, leading the scale-up of the Adolescent Girls Initiative Kenya (AGI-K) in Wajir County, and adapting the Evidence for Gender and Education Resource (EGER) at the Population Council. I also co-chaired the Technical Working Group for the Education and Training Sector Gender Policy in 2015. At Dignitas, I spearheaded the development of an Equity Framework for EdTech in East Africa and led research on educators’ knowledge, attitudes and practices in relation to the implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
Currently, as an EdTech Hub Specialist, I play a central role in the review of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Education and Training Policy (2021). In this role, I design data collection strategies for regional stakeholders and, in collaboration with the Ministries of Education and ICT, lead policy dialogues and synthesise findings into regional learning briefs to inform the policy evaluation process.
I hold a Master of Arts in Social and Public Policy from the University of York, which provided me with a strong foundation in research methods and policy analysis. I have particular expertise in qualitative research and excel at translating evidence into practical programmes and impactful policy recommendations.
My work directly informs policy development processes and reflects my ongoing commitment to bridging research, policy and practice across diverse education contexts.
